Welcome to The Phoenix’s weekly digest. Every week during the quarter, you can expect our writers’ takes on some campus happenings.

This week, Phoenix artist Elena Loucks presents a novel exchange.

Lauren just wasn’t going to have enough time to write her Phil Per essay—she needed to study for her 152 midterm and her Blue Chips application was due in two hours. She sighed and pasted the essay prompt into Chat.

Professor Miller just wasn’t going to have enough time to grade these Phil Per essays—he was flying out on Saturday to interview for a tenure-track job and so he needed to finish revising his CV tonight. He sighed and pasted the first essay into Chat.

When Lauren got her grade back, she was happy. When Professor Miller looked at his course evaluations at the end of the quarter, he was even happier.

Stay tuned for next week’s edition. In the meantime, if you have any thoughts, disagreements, or words of support, we want to hear them! Write to us at thechicagophoenix@gmail.com.
